TSCM Practical Applications

Modern TSCM equipment can be difficult to obtain within certain operational environments and time constraints. The Skinny Research & Development Practical Applications class is for those individuals who want to be challenged to build their own TSCM gear, find effective, low cost technical solutions, and manipulate existing gear from other disciplines for TSCM purposes.

This class reviews electronics and circuit design with an emphasis on building those designs from scratch. Students of all electronics skill levels are welcome as many of the primary basics of electronics and soldering will be covered in class.

At the conclusion of this course students will be able to build their own countermeasures gear from low cost, commercial-off-the-shelf materials and will improve their depth of knowledge in regards to fundamental and esoteric attack strategies.

Topics will include ultrasound, alternate light source (ALS), light manipulation, infrared light, lens detection, RF detection, and electronic design and prototyping. In addition, students will build several technical surveillance training devices in order to help them gain practical mastery of techniques learned in class.
